Why it matters to a buyer
Search Console is the closest thing to a direct line into how Google itself sees a site: it is the only major tool that shows real Google impressions, clicks and indexing status directly from Google, rather than an estimate from a third-party crawler or analytics platform. For a buyer, a site with no verified Search Console access, or an agency that cannot produce its data on request, is missing the most authoritative source available for diagnosing indexing, ranking and technical issues.
How it is measured or applied
A site is verified in Search Console through a DNS record, an HTML file, or a connected analytics or tag manager account, after which it reports search performance by query and page, indexing status and reasons for exclusion, sitemap health, and technical issues like Core Web Vitals and mobile usability. It is checked regularly rather than only when something breaks, since its manual actions, security issues and indexing problem reports surface real, time-sensitive issues, and its performance data feeds most other SEO reporting, from keyword tracking to content decay analysis.
