What does SEO cost in Saudi Arabia?

SEO in Saudi Arabia runs from about SAR 1,800 a month to SAR 25,000. What sits inside each band, what moves the price, and what a cheap quote leaves out.

SEO in Saudi Arabia costs about SAR 1,800 to SAR 25,000 a month on a retainer, SAR 200 to SAR 500 an hour, or SAR 1,100 to SAR 30,000 for a one-off project. Price tracks three things: how competitive your market is, whether you need Arabic as well as English, and how much writing and link work the plan includes.

Those bands are wide because almost nobody in the market publishes a number. We do, on our pricing page, and this post explains what sits behind each band so you can read any quote you are given. For the whole structure underneath — audits, Arabic, links, GEO and how to make two quotes comparable — read SEO pricing in Saudi Arabia.

What does an SEO retainer cost in Saudi Arabia?

Published prices are rare enough that the few that exist set the floor for the whole market. SEO Sherpa, the most visible agency in Riyadh search results, answers the question in its own FAQ: basic monthly retainers between SAR 1,800 and SAR 3,000, hourly work between SAR 200 and SAR 500, and one-off projects between SAR 1,100 and SAR 5,600 [1].

Those are entry figures for a single site in one language. A programme that includes technical work, new pages every month and any outreach at all tends to start around SAR 6,000 and runs into five figures once a second language or a large catalogue is involved. Our own plans start at SAR 6,500, SAR 12,500 and SAR 25,000 a month, which is the same shape from the other side of the table.

Project pricing behaves differently again. An audit is scoped by the size of the site rather than by the month, which is why the published range for one-off work starts near SAR 1,100 and ends an order of magnitude higher. A five-page brochure site and a store with four thousand products are not the same job, and no single monthly figure can describe both.

What do you get at each price?

The number matters less than what it buys. Three bands cover most of what Saudi businesses are quoted, and the difference between them is not effort but how much of the fee goes into work that compounds.

What a monthly SEO retainer typically covers in Saudi Arabia, by band
Band (SAR / month)What it coversWhat it does not
1,800–3,000On-page fixes, basic reporting, keyword trackingOriginal writing, outreach, developer time
6,000–12,000Technical fixes shipped, a few pages a month, one languageA second language, sustained link work
12,000–25,000+Bilingual content, links and conversion work running togetherMedia buying, which is a separate budget

Read a quote against that middle column rather than against another quote. Two agencies can name the same number and mean entirely different months: one ships four pages and works through a technical backlog, the other sends a dashboard. The only reliable comparison is a written scope with an owner and a date against every line of it.

Why is one quote three times another?

Three variables explain nearly every gap between two Saudi quotes, and none of them is the agency's postcode.

  1. Competition

Winning "SEO agency Riyadh" and winning "clinic in Olaya" are different amounts of work. A thin search result is cheap to enter; a crowded one is paid for in months.

  2. Languages

Arabic and English are two keyword sets, two sets of pages and two editorial calendars. Arabic SEO is its own discipline, not a translation step at the end.

  3. What the fee buys

A retainer that is mostly reporting costs less than one that funds writing and link building every week, because the second one pays people to make things.

If a quote is materially lower than the others in front of you, the honest question is which of those three it has dropped. Usually it is the third: the plan keeps the reporting and quietly removes the link building and the writing.

Is a cheap retainer worth it?

Below about SAR 3,000 a month, the arithmetic stops working. A writer, an outreach hour and a developer hour cost what they cost, so a budget that small can only buy maintenance or buy volume — and volume, at that price, means pages produced in bulk with nobody reviewing them.

The alternative at a small budget is not a cheaper retainer. It is a smaller, finished piece of work: an audit, the fixes it names, a handful of pages written properly, paid for once and then left to earn while you save for the next set. That is a slower plan, but it is a plan rather than a subscription to activity.

Monthly, hourly or per project?

Retainers suit ongoing work, because the compounding part of SEO is the part that runs every week. Hourly suits a defined question — a migration review, a schema problem — where you want an expert for a day and nothing after it. Project pricing suits audits, replatforming and one-time cleanups with a clear end.

The trap is paying a retainer for what is really a project. If the scope is "fix the site," that is an SEO audit and a fixed fee. A retainer starts when there is a plan to run.

Ask what happens in month four. Most quotes describe month one — the audit, the fixes, the setup — and go quiet after that, because month four is where the real cost sits.

Whatever the shape, the contract matters as much as the number. Ours are month to month, and you can stop at the end of any month. A twelve-month lock-in on a market as thin as Saudi search is the agency managing its own risk with your budget.

Questions people also ask

  • Is SAR 2,000 a month enough for SEO?

It covers maintenance: small on-page fixes, a little reporting, and nothing else. There is no room in it for original writing, outreach or development time, so it moves low-competition local terms at best.

  • Why will almost no Saudi agency quote a price on its website?

Because scope varies and because nobody wants to be the cheapest number on the page. The practical effect is that buyers cannot compare, which is why we publish our starting prices instead of hiding them behind a call.

  • Does Arabic cost more than English?

Writing Arabic costs about what writing English costs. Running both costs more, because it is two content programmes, two sets of keywords and two sets of pages to keep current rather than one translated copy.

  • How long before the spend returns anything?

In a weak Saudi search result, three to six months for movement and closer to nine for revenue you can attribute. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is selling a timeline, not a plan.
